Louise Mosrie: Music

Rockslide

(Louise Mosrie)
I wandered over Appalachia
High enough to see the setting sun.
Moving closer to my redemption
My feet on the ground one by one

I think I’m down to my last dollar.
Scraping the change up off the floor
I’ve got just enough to get to Knoxville
And just enough guts to make it work

I feel like a rockslide, waiting to fall
Like a raindrop, hearing my call to the earth
Finding myself in rebirth
The weight of my wanting was too much to hold,
so like a rockslide,
I just let it go.

I heard my soul’s quiet voices
Watching the red sun glow in the trees.
You’re only free when you make choices.
Thank God my choices are all up to me.

I grew up learning how to sleepwalk.
Catered to all they wanted from me.
My own hands help build this stony facade
But I’ve cracked, crumbled. I’m breaking free.

I feel like a rockslide, waiting to fall
Like a raindrop, hearing my call to the earth
Finding myself in rebirth
The weight of my wanting was too much to hold,
so like a rockslide,
I just let it go.

Let it go, can’t hold back anymore.
Let it go, there’s too much world to ignore.
Let it go, you know it’s never too late to break from the past....

So if you feel like a rockslide waiting to fall. If you feel
Like a raindrop, hearing your call to the earth
If your finding yourself in rebirth.
If the weight of your wanting is too much to hold,
like a rockslide, let it go. Let it go.
